Material Handler - Fragrance

Department: Production/Fragrance
Location: Harriman, NY

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform all labor duties necessary to assist with the production of fragrance products
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions applicable to the handling, measurements, etc. of various chemical ingredients and products
  • Perform all necessary labor duties related to packaging and labeling of manufactured products for preparation of shipment
  • Required to comprehend and apply automated material management practices with accuracy (e.g., SAP program)
  • Operate production machinery and equipment (e.g., pumps, forklifts, etc.) in a safe manner as outlined by company policies and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Consistently apply company safety policies, practices and procedures in a manner that prevents injuries and other operational losses.
  • Work overtime on an as-needed basis.

Position Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English on a level needed to interact with other employees, as needed in the performance of work duties
  • Able to perform basic math calculations, with use of a calculator
  • Computer knowledge is essential

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit sometimes for extended periods. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must be capable of physically standing and capable of lifting/carrying 50 lbs. and moving 55 gal. drums repetitively during an 8 hour work shift.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
