Consumer Insights & Market Research, Assistant Manager

  • [Depending on projects] Create research proposal to outline recommended research plan design, specific methodologies, schedule, and budget; create survey questionnaires or discussion guides, analysis/tabulation plans and quality control.
  • Coordinate full life cycle research ensuring quality, timeliness, scheduling, programming/fielding, data processing and reporting.
  • Manage the design and execution of research projects; effectively share results to facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Prepare reactive & proactive global & regional/local presentations and communicate findings (with recommendations) to internal business units/cross functional departments.
  • Work closely with various departments to understand knowledge gaps across the business and use insights to drive strategy; utilize an understanding of previously conducted research and learnings to recognize potential gaps and leverage existing insights as possible for future needs.
  • Start customer engagement; listen to business needs and be able to support and identify opportunities based on insights.
  • Drive awareness and use of consumer insights throughout the organization, fuelling and supporting consumer-centric culture.
  • Serve as mentor to junior researchers, share existing knowledge and experience, leverage expertise to guide or direct junior researchers.
  • Investigate and select vendors via RFP process for each research project to ensure quality research deliverables, manage vendor partners to ensure work is high quality, on time, and within budget.
  • Partner cross functionally to understand business needs and what research needs to be done to address current and future needs; Match research to internal/external client needs to gain stakeholder alignment on scope, offer up strategic approaches customized to business objectives.
  • Provide support to maintain an effective database system for all market research studies and information.
  • Report on all assigned project status and progress monthly to CIMR Lead


Job requirements:

  • Degree with minimum 7 years of working experience in Market Research (or 5 years in the Fragrance industry or from similar industry is an added advantage
  • Good project management skills; analytical skills and numbers savvy
  • Cultural savvy, demonstrates understanding of differences among countries and cultures
  • Thinks outside the box regarding insights and research approaches and methods
  • Ability to distil disparate data into compelling insights and deliver story driven reporting and call-to-action for the business
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills (strong collaborator who can work effectively in a cross functional team, ability to partner closely using insights to influence and drive business strategic decisions)
  • Proficient in English both oral and written
  • Knowledge of statistical software (XLSTAT, SPSS and other related statistical software)
