CIMR Manager

Location: Rockleigh, NJ, United States

We are currently seeking a manager to join our Flavor Consumer Insights and Market Research (CIMR) – North America Team, based in Rockleigh, NJ. 

Job Description:

  • Support VP/Director in defining regional CIMR strategies to help drive North America business growth and provide a point of differentiation
  • Lead the cross functional team collaboration to provide direction for new flavors and product concepts to promote Takasago Flavors and Technology
  • Create and champion the" taste the experience" approach to effectively engage with customers in proactive & reactive projects with the goal to open doors and gain flavor business opportunities
  • Manage various consumer & product research studies to provide creative flavor direction/ new product concepts and to support strategic and client-based consumer insights projects
  • Implement CIMR research infrastructure & knowledge to support key strategic areas. Incorporate new market and consumer trends in new insights development, category landscape and future trend analysis
  • Manage research budgets and resources (including internal staffs and external research partners) to support all regional and global initiatives
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior staff from regional affiliates.
  • Assist VP and Director in developing new methods and best practice guidelines

Job Requirements:                                         

  • MS/Ph.D. in Experimental/Behavioral Psychology, Neurosciences, Food Science, sensory Sciences, Consumer, Market Research, Statistics or related area.
  • 5+ years of progressive growth experience in consumer insights, product, market research and analytics.
  • Some experience in managing/ supervising/ coaching team preferred

  • Strong analytical, data science and statistics skills. Must have proven applied mathematics and statistical skills with high degree of familiarity and hands on experience with statistical packages (e.g., SAS, XLSTAT, or SPSS) and the ability to interpret data 
  • Strong technical project management skills. Capable of meeting deadlines and dealing with high pressure and changing priorities
  • Demonstrate leadership skills. Take initiative in leading cross functional team projects and fostering collaboration and teamwork
  • Proficiency in a wide range of contemporary consumer, product and market research
  • Ability to use tool/software to create impactful visual presentation materials
  • Goal and action oriented. Demonstrate “can-do” & positive attitude
  • Passionate about food and interest in food & beverage trends
